Title: MIA

Polaris.northstar - May 5, 2006 06:31 AM (GMT)
This is been freaking me out the past few weeks. My oscars are disappearing. No bodies, no nothing to tell you that they were ever there. I've checked my filter and to no avail! I am at a loss to know where the freaking things are going. One jumped. I found it's body the other day but the other fish, who knows what happend to them Any suggestions?

How big are they, are they all the same size and how long to you spend away from the tank at a time? Also what size tank do you have and how many oscars?

I have heard of oscars eating each other too, maybe that is what happened.

they were less then 2 inches in a Temp 45 gallon tank. I dont know where thy are but no bodies or anything to suggest that there was an oscar in that tank

As far as I read this, it sounded like there were only oscars in your tank. I don't see any other fish mentioned.

Maybe I misunderstood something. If so, I am deeply sorry.

Does there appear to be an aggressor in the bunch or one that is a considerable amount bigger?

Polaris.northstar - May 7, 2006 08:31 AM (GMT)
They were all the same size, They did share a tank with a dempsey who was scared of them. A Red Tailed shark who ignored them and 2 gold nugget pleco's who ignore everyone

It is possible that the gold nugget plecos are developing a taste for your oscars and the other oscars are joining in. I don't know much about plecos though so I am not sure. Is there any scenery they could be behind?

"bare bottom Tank" Pleco;s had noting to do with it. all they did was eat my plants

OK well all I can put it down to is that they are hungry. How much do you feed them?
