I'm new to your site but not new to aquariums. I've kept aquariums for almost 30 years. I started out with a 10 gal. and kept growing. I now have a 55 gal and a 125 gal. I've never had any serious problems til recently. I'm just recooping from a devastating bout of velvet in my 55 gal tank. I am looking for info on UV sterilizers. The only place I'm able to get info is from places that sell them--and of course they want me to buy one! I'm told that they not only improve water clarity; but also, help protect from bacterial and parasitic infections. Are they worth buying? How much do they help? Please let me know what your experience has been. Thanks!
