Title: Neon Tetras

Tetra man - May 2, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
I bought some neons yesterday. they have been fine so far but now they have started chasing each other around and it looks as if they are nipping at each other (however i am not sure if they are actually nipping). Is this normal?
Thanks, John

They are more than likely just establishing an heirarchy within the group. Who is the leader, etc. Or it could even be harmless chasing. Nothing to worry about IMO. How many do you have?

It sounds like you are perfectly stocked in my opinion so congrats on that. You could maybe go a few more depending on your filtration. Personally I think they are doing each other no harm and you should not worry about them. Also why don't you go ahead and register?

Tetras are best kept in odd numbers of schools of 5 or more.

Why odd numbers?

Mazza hit it on the mark. All normal stuff for the Danios.
