Title: I've Got An Extra 10 Gallon
Description: Any ideas on what to do with it?

I've got an extra 10 gallon that I was originally going to use to hold salt water for water changes, but the more I think about it, the more I want to actually do something with it.

I was thinking of setting up some neat biotope, but who knows. Perhaps a small planted tank of some kind? I liked your riverbed idea, bartier. Perhaps you could post some full view pictures of the tank.

What kind of fish would you add? Keep in mind, though, that I'm used to overstocking my tanks and doing very frequent water changes.

I'm wanting something different from the norm though.

I'm going to be adding RO filter water, so the pH is going to be pretty acidic. I know silver dollars would get too big for a 10 gallon, and there aren't any CA/SA american cichlids that stay small enough.

I am going to pick up some pH adjuster to be used with my electro-lyte for RO water to bring the pH to about 7.0. Otherwise, if left untreated, the pH would be about 5.8-6.0.

Which is fine if I want to keep some acidic fish, which is the whole reason I am here.

What do you guys think? What would you do? I was even thinking about doing a small FO SW setup. Maybe even add a piece or two of live rock.

A small 10g saltwater tank sound interesting. You could do a invert only tank, FOWLR, or FO. I would also suggest doing a low light planted tank, with a small school of Cardinal Tetras, brackish water setup with a trio of Bumblebee gobies, or a shelldweller tank with Multis. The possibilities are endless. :)

I will try and get some pictures it isn't as good as I would like it to be at the moment however in a few months once the archer moves into the 40 gallon he will have a very well decorated home. Well that's what I am hoping for anyway.

Sounds awesome guys. The shelldweller tank has always captured my attention. I just don't want to pay the price associated with them, haha! Multies are 20 bucks a piece. :o

I think I am going to bum some crawdads off of SM. I know he's got more than he knows what to do with. I'm going to keep a few of them in a simple tank. Black gravel with a piece of PVC or maybe a log. I might even put some sand in there so they can burrow.
