I'm trying to breed two of my bettas, but for some reason the male is being alittle to aggressive. He has bred only one other time with another female who was experienced. But this famale has never bred before, she has gone in and out of his area by passing through a small opening in the divider. The male still has no interest to breed, but he has made a bubble nest (a big one). Hes showing off and trying to imporess her, but when she gets close he shows aggression.
Whats going on with him?
Trying to breed betta isn't as easy as they are kept. The reason that the female is running away is because she isn't ready to breed yet. Have you condition the two breeders? If not then you should try to condtion them before trying to breed them. If the female is bigger than the male then he won't breed with her too. Maybe add lots of plats in there. And just because he making a bubble nest doesnt mean he want to breed. I think he is just happy thats why he is making the bubble nest for u :D
She's ready to breed I've checked to make sure. They began to breed he grabbed her twice in that embrace they do, but then that was it. He bit her tail and she left him. She's still tying to get him though. That would be nice if he did
