Just wondering if anyone breeds feeder fish or makes their own fish food. I ask because i hatch my own brine shrimp and I wanted to know if anybody else did the same. Just to share ideas and experiences.

I'm looking to start hatching brine shrimp for my salt water fish. I've never done it before, so it's going to be a new experience.

You shouldn't worry it not hard.

I make kind of a gel food for my fish. Lots of ingrediants and you freeze it.

I hatch BBS and breed cons for feeders. But Cons have some freaky spines so I changed my mind to Goldfish. I have about 8 goldfish growing now. Probably just some more months b4 breeding. 3 of them are at a size of 5 inches.

When I get pipefish and seahorses...hopefully soon lol...i'm going to start a culture of live mysid shrimp for a snack here and there. At the moment the only food I really make is the occasional hatching of brine and I make food for the brine also. All you do is add a little hot water in a blender, put lettuce and kale, and just whatever green veggies, blend, and sift the veggie particles out with a brine shrimp net so you end up with practically green water.

Well, I've thought about it. I may have done it unintentionally when my variety of frozen fish food cubes I had in a plastic bag got all all mushed together (I had already popped them out of their containers) when the accidentally became mostly defrosted. :sick:

You know, I put the frozen food in a microwave to soften it up and sometimes it actually starts to cook. I have never smelled anything so nasty as cooked bloodworms. ack! :sick: ok, well perhaps baby diapers. .. :sick:

I have a dam in my backyard that has fish that I feed to my fish if that counts for anything.
