GuppyBabe - April 1, 2006 09:06 PM (GMT)
My female betta is floating at the top of the water, but she's moving it looks like she's getting fatter like she's bloated, but I don't know what to do and I don't know whats going on.. Help me please cause she's one of my best breeding females.

Sounds like Dropsy. Feed her antibiotic foods. This is due to poor water conditions, excess stress, overcrowding, or being moved. It is an internal infection.
Are the scales sticking out? If not there is more of a chance she will live if treated immediatly.

No her scales aren't sticking out. I've had dropsy in the tank before, so i'm sure it's not that, thank u though.

Dropsy does not show protruding scales at first. It is a later symptom.
Is she acting clumpsy, or seem off balance? If so, it is possibly swim bladder.
It is constipation, bacterial infection, parasites. A diet of shelled green peas will act as a laxative.
