Hi. I'm looking for a mate for my male Convict. He's got 30 gallons to himself and I'm sure it could be put to more efficient use. Since he will not tolerate other types of tankmates, perhaps a mate is just the ticket. Thing is, he's already about 3 inches (he does not have a tail...a Pirahna took it off before I owned him, otherwise, he'd be 4 inches), so it would be best if the female was at least 3 inches or slightly smaller. The LFS' typically stock the younger, smaller Convicts, but he needs a more mature female. Please PM me if anyone knows or hears of an available FM. Thanks.

I have Females ranging from 2 inches to 5 inches, some may be larger,

I have a 2.5 inch female bred with an 5 inch male before, and nothin was bad :D

I dont think it makes a difference. Once you drop her in he will either attack or mate. Convicts are not that difficult.

I'll be giving baby dempsys away soon too, My monster bred with his huge female and I get 1/2 of the babies (yay me! Same friend with the Ghost knife that bred with mine)

Well, I guess the wedding is off for a while. I had to make some tank changes and now I don't have room for proceed with my plans. Thanks anyway, Polaris.. I will keep it in mind should things change again.

When you get those ghost knifes give me a holla. I've been waiting for those at my LFS.
