I've been going to this store for a couple of years now and I have noticed that the quality of service and the quality in in the fishkeeping has been dropping. It all started a couple of weeks ago when the manager transfered out to a different location. Now the guy they have in charge of the place looks like he is 12 years old and he has no clue of what is going on in that place now. The tanks are never clean now the fish look like they haven't been fed in weeks and I'm having second thoughts about even shopping there. I also noticed other frequent customers complaining. You know the people you always see when you go there. I just hope it works out. The only sad thing is that the only ones suffering are the animals in the pet shop.

I know the story. :( A fish store (not so local ;)) about 1 hour from here used to be a ripper store, with somewhat unusual fish, beautiful looking, clean tanks, etc... It just went downhill. I don't know if the manager changed or anything. I used to prefer that shop because they actually knew what they were doing(, unlike the other one which can't sex livebearers..). I'm not sure what the water was like, because of all the algae I could see through. Last time I went, they had common tetras, danios... That kind of thing. Probably were the only ones surviving...

I doubt I'll ever buy anything from there again.

I would get ahold of the guy above the new manager and talk to him about what you have noticed. If you know the other customers, you can let them know whom to contact and tell them to do the same. This does not go unnoticed!!! Not if they want to keep business. That is what my hubby and I would definately do!

If there's no one above him, then talk to him about all the problems you've noticed, and point out that you and some other frequent customer's you know are considering dropping their business. I can't imagine that the manager would be so inept that he wouldn't care about losing business if he's at the top of the food chain there, because that would be taking away from his pockets directly.

You should not shop there or complain yourself. they say the more people that complain the sooner stuff gets done!!! :music:

my fish store told me the male of the fish i wanted was aggressive, and the frmale had babies. So i bought the female. 3 hours after i put it in the tank it had 5 babies!!! go figure!

It didn't take long for action to be taken I reported it to another store about a week ago and management demoted the manager to sale associate and they really are making changes in the staff and to the store. I guess they were waiting for sothing like that to happen to give the store a complete ovehaul. I'm glad it all worked out.

Gotta feel for the old manager.

I am so glad you listened to those of us who know! SM has a good mind to agree with me. I never get bad business anywhere anymore. Guess it comes with having to deal with alot of stupid (different word I would rather use) people.
I haven't gotten bad service in awhile. Once I notice it, I immediatley talk to the head honcho, and things get DONE, and FAST!
Good thing my hubby is the same way.

Good thing to learn in life, don't LET yourself get treated like @#%$,
Never let someone walk all over you,
Never let someone step on your family.

Put them in their place and FASTER IS BETTER.
I am not a B&%$#, but don't mess with me or mine.
And then you should never have another problem in that area again. :P
