Ahhhh....so I went to Petsmart...again.

Petsmart is a bad place for me. Really bad. Why? Because I end up with more fish every time I go. :D

Annnnyways.

There's been an army green male betta there, just a VT, and he's been there for over a month. He's a very dull fellow, and his colors aren't really attractive enough for the average first time betta owners. However, the first time I saw him he was really attractive because I like to collect odd colored bettas for my own viewing pleasure, lol.

Anyways, so he's been there for a month, or longer, and no one had bought him yet, so I went back this evening. And there he was, sitting on the top of another betta in a bigger cup, all alone. I've even been in there before and heard people call him "ugly".

His fins were starting to curl a little, and his water was kinda dirty. He wasn't in the best of betta living conditions, unlike some of the very happy bettas that this Petsmart has (it's the only one where I've ever found bettas guarding bubble nests in their cups). So I picked him up and decided, what the heck, I have empty tanks!

So now I have my pretty army green boy. I'm thinking of calling him "Camo". My friend Marina bought a new orange boy as well, his name is Pumpkin.

Cool, you had extra tanks anyway, right? I had a feeling it wasn't going to be too long after that post about having extra tanks that we'd see this post :up: :D

LOL! It's like the old saying horse people have "If you build too many stalls, you will fill them" I'm planning on building a three stall barn at my new place, two stalls for my horses and one for feed and tack!! I guess it's the same thing with fishies...:D He's really cute though, I'll have to post pictures later. When I put him in his new tank he just sat on the bottom for five minutes like "Whhaaattt???" lol.

Lol I think I might get a betta of some kind. I will post a picture of what I am thinking of keeping it in later I am not sure if it is big enough though.

Will his green color get better? I would think so in the right conditions. I would love to see some photos. :D

I like to get Bettas that other people might not like just so they could have a good place to stay, like my bass his creek didn't have alot of minnows for him and the other bass to eat so I took him home and know he's eating two feeder fish every time he gets hungry. I just live to spoil my fish.

I'm sure I can get some pics sometime tonight. He's the flaring-est thing I've ever seen. I fed him one betta pellet today, and he chowed it down. As soon as I walk by his tank he flares. lol! He's a very fiesty fellow.

I was in there the other day to pick up some food flakes and took a quick look at the Betta's all lined up in their cups. I wanted to buy the whole lot, but the store would just put more out on the shelf. At least you could give one of 'em a good home. :)

If I had room for all the bettas in the world in petstores, I think I'd buy them too! But can you imagine how many betta pellets you'd go through in a week? ;D

I don't even let myself look at the betta section because I might see another cute little face that I need to take home!

Lol! I have a new boy picked out at the LFS down here, he's lovely. And you have no idea how close I was to buying two more Crowntails!!! :)

The boy is from the same Petsmart, he was hiding in the back. He's a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, platinum apricot fellow. He's so weird looking I might not be able to pass him up...:P
