Title: WOW! It's official..

hakkobetta - March 19, 2006 07:14 AM (GMT)
It's official everyone.

I have TOO MANY TANKS.

All my bettas now have one gallon or more, and all my half-gallons are unoccupied, along with one two gallon! My 5.5 is still cycling, so it has no occupants either, and neither does my ten gallon....

I'm amazed. Normally I don't have enough tanks to go around because of all the rescues I do, and how I always say "one more fish won't hurt anything". This of course means that I will be somehow, getting more fish. I should be getting a new male from Echo88 on petfish soon as well.

Speaking of tanks, my 2.5 minibow is . I used the betta divider and now my blood-red VT Arawn has 1.25 gallons, and my lovely Platinum-white marbled Sophie has 1.25 gallons. Yay!!

Sorry for the mindlessness of this post, but I'm just too excited! :D

So I can't help but wonder... all the smaller, empty tanks... are they acrylic? Could you put them together to make one big tank? Please tell us more about the rescues you do.

There is never enough IMHO. I got 2 tanks and 1 pond with Koi...and another with rare fish....all upgrades from smaller tanks. Now im ordering a 10,000L fibre glass pond...and later on going to build a huge pond in the backyard...if only I got bigger land....i'll build more :P

Two of them are acryllic, but they're very funny shapes. :D By putting together do you mean breaking off a wall and then fitting them together?

One of my half-gallons is a drum that I use as a temporary home for bettas that don't quite have a decided place in the tankdom that I own, lol. My other half-gallon is at home, and the one I have is unoccupied on a bottom shelf.

Congratulations! :D

Yep. I pictured cutting a "U" shape (and filing the rough edges), then siliconing the tanks together. If they are funny shapes, then maybe you would have an even more interesting tank afterward?

LOL! That would be pretty funny!! It would be the weirdest tank shape I've ever seen in my entire life!!

I've always bought glass tanks, but I was watching DIY network on working with acrylic, it looks really easy to work with to come up with all kinds of different shapes and sizes. It's giving me a few ideas on some DIY projects to add some small tanks into furniture, like my computer desk here... maybe snake one tank all around the desk where I could keep a betta. That would be fun... the only thing is, I'd have to think about ways to clean every part of the tank.
