Title: What's your next project?

Leema - March 15, 2006 12:27 PM (GMT)
So what's your next tank/pond related plans?

For me, I need to stock my tanks... Or, in the case of my 3ft, decide what I want to put in it!

After that, I'd like to try myself with a big(gish) cichlid... Urau, Oscar, Convict... Something like that. Right now, there's the perfect tank at the LFS... $800, all it needs is gravel and lights, and rocks... Unfortunately, I don't have the space or the cash! :(

I am getting a 2 foot tank off a friend for free with everything. He is way overstocked and giving me all his fish not to sure what to do there yet but I will decided when I get it.

I'm about to start work on a styrofoam background. I'm thinking about making a thin one for my 40 gallon after I get it stocked with my cichlids. I'm going to let it 'cure' in a trash can that way I can just put it in there and don't have to worry about it leaching.

I'm going to be setting up my 15 gallon 'above ground pond' in a few months. Can't wait for that. I'd like to get some pond plands for it and move the goldfish to it.

I have my eye on a 90g or a 125g for some texas or some jags. Jags are first on my list though.

Do you have one of those above-ground fold-out type things? I saw one online.

I'm working on redecorating my 10 gallon for my betta that I just put in it.

...and maybe I'll get a couple cories to live in there with him.

Well, I plan on finding some water safe paint for my cemented pond. I think I want to go with an earthy brown color, rather than the standard black.
I have the fish all ready to go in. 1 Koi, 1 Ranchu, 1 Red Cap Oranda, and 5 GF. We bought them all real small and let them grow in the 29G over the winter time.
As for plants...UMM? Will Anacharis grow well outside? I suppose it would.
I need to think about a filter, I want the water fall type. I am pretty sure I can get one online, I just have to remember where I saw them. Then during the fall months, I will need to figure out if I will actually need a heater or just a gas escape area. Not sure yet. That is the iffy part, the pond is only about 3 1/2' deep, and the winter weather here changes all the time.

Before my Pond expidition, I started my project just this last Friday. I am making another theme for my tank. With things found around the house. I am really exicited. Well... I had better get back to my painting. ;) That is all the hint you get!! lol

My current projects are a 5.5 gallon tank cycling for two bettas, and a ten gallon cycling that will be divided for four bettas. I went ahead and bought biospira so I'll be able to go ahead and get the cycles done quickly. I'm getting two new babies in the mail next week, so I'm excited about their new 5.5 gallon home. The ten gallon is going to be a permanent home unit for the betta boos. I'm getting another ten gallon for the same purpose soon as well. :D

Well, it looks like I'm going to be getting two 6x2x2ft tanks, on one stand in July... Just got the final things to confirm and then... :D:D

I guess my projects are on hold until I could talk my wife into letting me bring in more tanks in the house. :)
