Title: White Clouds

So today on the way home from work, I stopped at a Meijer store (combination grocery and department store). I wanted to pick up some Maracyn Plus for the next round of treatments for the sick Danio. I have a three gallon tank with nothing but plants and the mini heater doesn't go past 75F. I looked around to see if there were some White Clouds in the tanks and sure enough, I was able to get three to start. I unplugged the heater and all should be well with these guys. They seem to be acclimating ok. Far as I can tell, I have two females and a male. Lucked out!

I usually do not buy fish from such a store, but I figured since they were going to stay together and no other fish were in the tank, it would work out ok. The down side, as you might expect, are the condition of the tanks. I honestly do not know how the filter could operate (I'm sure it wasn't operating well at all) with so many dead fish stuck to the bottom of the intake tube. I made a point to comment to the attendent, who seemed a bit embarrassed. Dang. These fish come from all over the world just to end up dying and sticking to a filter tube. grrrr. I couldn't even tell what kind of fish they were, but there were at least a half dozen.

That's sad about all the fish stuck to the intake tube :(

I'm sure it happens at most places, some places are just better at removing them quickly.

I've kept Minnows for about 1 year and love 'em! I've recently moved mine out to my pond. They've been in heated tanks (26C) prior. I think they're prefer consistant temperature and warm over cold and fluctuating. :)

How many snails do you want? For some reason I wish my tank was like that.

How many snails? It seems the population manages itself. There are probably so many because there is enough left over food to sustain them, so I have read. I don't have to clean the tank glass. They do all the work!
