:star: Within the next month or so I will be drawing up plans for custom cabinets and tank stands, as well as canopies. I will be posting the dimensions and board cuts, the amount of material needed and an approximate cost. I will have plans for popular tank sizes... 10, 20/29, 37, 40 BR, 55, 75/90, 125.
If you would like for us to help you with your stand or cabinet design, please send MAZZA_402 a private message with a general idea of what you are wanting. I will work on the design and get back to you as soon as possible.
As soon as your stand or cabinet design is finished, with the member's permission, will be posted in a subforum in the Reference Library section. This way, members that are looking to do a similar design will have a blueprint to start with.
I want this to be a tool that our members can use to help make their fishkeeping hobby more enjoyable. You can save a great deal of money by building these items yourself, and hopefully, with our help, you can have a furniture show piece.
:star: I will be working on DIY ideas as much as possible. If there is something that you would like to see in our DIY articles, please send MAZZA_402 a private message. I will give the project a try, post pictures, and do a how-to so you can complete the project yourself. I would like our DIY article database to be something that is as comprehensive as possible. I want to have as many in-depth articles as humanly possible. One thing I always run into with DIY articles are the lack of pictures, difficult to read instructions, and not being able to find the article to help me complete the unique project I am working on.
:star: If you have a DIY project that you would like to share with our community, please send it to MAZZA_402. I will pin it up within the Reference Library section for our members and guests to read. Please include at least a few pictures, including those of the finished product. Remember to include the materials needed. If possible, an estimated time to complete, and an estimated cost of the supplies.
:star: The articles in this forum are going to be geared toward freshwater, saltwater, and ponds alike. When we start to get an extensive library, they will be broken up into their appropriate sections. Remember, that great DIY decoration that works wonderfully in freshwater may just work as well in saltwater, too.
I hope I haven't bored you to death with my 'speech'. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up of where I wanted to see our DIY forum throughout the year. If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to send me a private message.
Thanks again!
