I have no clue whats going on but all I did today was move some items in the tank and feed my fish breakfast which I have never done and now tonight all my tetras dieing no one else is....any ideas there is red spots on there brain areas.

Any behavior changes? Are they up at the surface, down on the gravel? Trouble breathing, swimming?
[Edit:] Are the red spots open sores? At this point, I can only guess that it is a bacterial infection, but more detail would be useful. How long have you had them? What are your water tests saying? Thanks.

If they are flashing (scrapeing against decor), then flukes could be a good possible cause. Odd that they would start dieing that fast though.
Have any actually died yet?

Is it possble when you moved some stuff in your tank, your fish were bumping into the items moved? That could account for the redness. Are there any other signs of strange behavior? Could you possibly post a pic? When was your last water change? It could be ammonia poisoning too. That too could account for the sudden redness. More details would be helpful.

OK 2 died so far I notice the redness could account from the previous water change I haven't changed it in a while and just did yestarday the test seem fine but haven't tested today they were swimming upside down all around the tank not at bottom or top.

how much water do you change if you are doing 100% water changes this could be the problem as it would start a cycle in you tank and cause the high amount of ammonia that Jdizine suggested may be the problem to arise in the tank.

Are they eating? Try feeding them some shelled green peas, swimming upside down sounds like swim bladder, along with too much ammonia in your tank.

Are these the glolight tetra?
jdizine - March 10, 2006 12:01 PM (GMT)
I personally think they are gone by now. Probably because of the cycleing process. I think he was new to the aqaurium life if I remember correctly. :(

Catlover, yep I think they were his glo-lights.
jdizine, I think you're right. :(

Have you tried checking your ph? I heard that they like their ph below 7.0.
