Title: Bleeding Heart Tetras
Description: How big do they get

MAZZA_402 - March 3, 2006 05:02 PM (GMT)
I was purchasing some fish for my 40 gallon and picked up a 2" rainbow shark as well as two bleeding heart tetras. I've seen the bleeding hearts get huge. Up to 5-6". All the profiles that I have read though have said the max size they get to is 2.5". Has anyone ever kept a bleeding heart tetra and can tell me how big they grow to? I'm needing a fish that is at least 4-5", preferably 6" at their adult size.

Thanks guys. I'll post some pics as soon as I can. I am acclimating them right now. I think they will make good additions though.

There is a tetra called I think a Columbian red-finned tetra that gets about 4 inches and resemble a bleeding heart tetra. If you type it in to google, you could probably find some pictures.

The large ones you saw could have been mislabeled, nothing would surprise me.
