You can, just lick the edit button to the top right of your post.

Unless Mazza_402 beat me to checking it, it was set that way before I looked at it.. don't know why it wouldn't have been working for you.

Just for the record, I've never removed the edit button or taken the ability to edit ones own posts away. Not sure why it wouldn't have shown for you. Maybe an error when loading the page? Did it only happen one time or does it happen every time?
