Title: Heylo ~ Newbie ~

hakkobetta - February 27, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
Hi everybody! I heard about this forum, so I came to see what kind of new information that I could learn about here.

Anyways, I'll just give ya the break down on a little about me, and my pets!

My name is Kristen and I'm in college right now studying to be a History teacher. I have 16 fish (soon to be eighteen, I'm ordering two Crowntail bettas), two cats, one dog, and my favorite of all is my horse, Bear!

My fish are my dorm room loves though, they make everything so much better, but having 16 in a tiny 12x13 room can be kinda aggravating! Anyways!

I have 12 betta splendens, and four danios.

Tank Rundown:
.5 gallons: Three; Occupants: Miracle, Arawn, and Daz, daily water changes, two betta pellets AM.
1 gallons: Six; Occupants: Amarante, Armani, Psi, Horus, Kaida, and Oki; water changes every 4-5 days, two betta pellets AM.
2.5 gallons: Two; Occupants: Haruki, Dolce & Gabbana (share a 2.5 w/ divider); same water change schedule as former, same feeding.
5 gallons: One; Occupants: Four danios (cycling) :D
5.5 Gallons: One; No occupants currently, being cloroxed due to columnaris outbreak in goldfish
15 gal: empty, former occupants two baby fancy goldfish who went to the big fishbowl in the sky two weeks ago.

Welcome. I'll bet you have one of the coolest dorm rooms ever! Do you have to share the room with a roomate like we do here in TN?

Yeah, my roommate only has one splenden though. I take care of him too! :D It's mostly feeding, she keeps up with water changers. But we've been best friends since we were in preschool, so she just takes it as another one of my eccentricies (if that's a word). She just chocks it up to me being an animal lover! :D

Hey! Welcome to the forum! Glad to see we are getting even more betta lovers. ^_^ My wife is studying to be a teacher, also! Must be something else to have that many tanks around. I couldn't imagine changing the water in all of them on a daily basis! You must be really dedicated.

We hope you enjoy the forums! You'll find that there are ALOT of betta lovers on our forum.

See you on the forums!

MAZZA, sometimes I forget to change them, then I feel terrible! I try to be the best mommy I can with my time though. I have four bettas on my desk, and the other eight are on a special bookshelf I bought just for the purpose! I have one boy who's a little overactive when he sees other males, so he stays on the bottom shelf in the dark dark dark... :D Everybody else is on the other shelves/ w backlighting from lamps and overhead from tank lights. I have one betta in a vase...but that's just because I wanted him out of that doggone half-gallon I had him in so I could put more salt in his water (he has a slight case of fin-rot) Anyways, I'm sure I'll find some great info on this forum! I'm looking forward to checking everything out!

Hello, I'm always behind reading the introductions. You have already helped me on some of my betta questions! Thanks! we're glad to see you here! I have opted to live at home for college instead of in a dorm, I don't think they would let me keep a 10 gallon in a dorm and I DEFINITELY don't think they would let me keep my 29 gallon in a dorm! a roomate would probably also hate me because I like to set my filters so that I have the "falling water" and bubbling sounds in my room. makes for very good sleeping! :D

I'm gathering supplies to start my betta tank! :D
