That substrate looks like my aragonite sand substrate... does it show up just as brightly as aragonite in the light?

CatLover - February 24, 2006 02:08 AM (GMT)
Have you decided what fish you plan to put in the tank?

Looks good!

Cichlid Commander - February 24, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking shell dwellers. Maybe some brevis.

bartier - February 24, 2006 05:30 AM (GMT)

Leema - February 24, 2006 06:27 AM (GMT)

Cichlid Commander - February 24, 2006 02:56 PM (GMT)

MAZZA_402 - February 28, 2006 03:16 PM (GMT)
Wow CC. That tank looks great! I've always wanted to have a tank full of multies. I'd love to do something like that in my 40 if they weren't so expensive.

Are those plants real or fake? I really like the way they look.

Cichlid Commander - February 28, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
I've always bought fake plant because my dempsey's thought me a lesson of how much they love to destroy them. By the way Its FAKE Amazon sword.

MAZZA_402 - February 28, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
Wow. I guess if I had just looked closer I would have seen that they we're IN FACT the same plants that I have in MY tank. LoL. Sorry for the confusion CC. I might have to buy some fake ones. Maybe then they would live, haha! Where did you buy yours from?

Cichlid Commander - March 1, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
I got the plants from the local petland discount store.

Cichlid Commander - March 2, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)

1 albino yellow lab for now
2 blue veriety zebras

Tangs and malawians together? Its only for now. I'm aiming for a TANG TANK.

pics in a few!

CatLover - March 7, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
Looks really good! I'm glad I'm not the only one with fake plants! I know most aquariasts (is that a word?) on other sites frown down on the use of fake plants. Just have to be selective of what types you buy.Cool plants

I just bought some from this site. Some of the silk ones for my betta tank that is in the works. They look really good and are about 1/3 of the price of the ones at petsmart!

We'll see if the link works.

CatLover - March 7, 2006 02:58 AM (GMT)
Down toward the bottom of the page are some that look really good.

Sometimes I see some at petsmart where I'm just like, "WOW! those look really FAKE!" But these actually look good and I think will be great for the betta because they don't have any even remotely sharp edges.

I haven't put them in the water yet though, then they should look really good.

Good luck, its lookin' good!! :D

Cichlid Commander - March 7, 2006 03:22 AM (GMT)
Next time i go to the LFS I'll get the brand and post it.
