Java moss is pretty structureless. I'll just bung it in a bag and send it to you.

PM me your address?

Polaris.northstar - February 28, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)

jdizine - March 8, 2006 08:29 AM (GMT)
wish I lived in Australia right now. I have never had java moss.

Leema - March 8, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
Polaris - I don't think quarantine would let me ship to the USA?

It may be a bit long for it too - it's not THAT hardy. :P

bartier - March 8, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
Alright let me know when it is coming. :)

Leema - March 9, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
Sorry Bartier - been distracted by the BN fry. :P
Seeing you're the only one wanting some, you're gonna get lots.

bartier - March 10, 2006 09:05 AM (GMT)
lol sounds good can't wait :)

jdizine - March 10, 2006 10:23 AM (GMT)
:o Bartier! I found this about Java Moss. "It is quite coarse and I have not encountered any fish with a taste for it (excluding of course large cichlids!)."

bartier - March 11, 2006 06:19 AM (GMT)
That is the only kind of fish I have other than guppies lol Sounds like a good plant though.

susankat - March 12, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
In about a month I can ship starts of Java moss to anyone in US since I live in the US also.

jdizine - March 14, 2006 04:48 AM (GMT)
sign me up for that susankat

Tim - March 28, 2006 10:39 AM (GMT)
Is there still options for java moss in Australia Leema?

Leema - March 28, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
Tim, I sent what I had to spare to Bartier. However, in a few months, I should have enough to send again, if you're interested. :)

Tim - March 28, 2006 09:26 PM (GMT)
Yup ok thanks tell me when you have some more!!

bartier - March 29, 2006 09:39 AM (GMT)
I have recieved it. However I have no idea how to put it in my tank???

Tim - March 29, 2006 10:24 AM (GMT)
java moss is a self growing thing so if you want it to grow onto a piece of drift wood then just tie it onto the driftwood and put it in your tank. or if you want it attached to a rock the do the same thing but onto a rock very easy!!

Hope this helps
Tim

bartier - March 29, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
cool I will put it on a rock

Leema - March 29, 2006 12:37 PM (GMT)
How dead was it, Bartier?

It took like a week! It should come back, though - hardy stuff. Maybe split the packet in two, so half in the tank and half in a sunny spot outside (in a jar). I don't think your tank has a light, does it?

bartier - March 29, 2006 08:52 PM (GMT)
No that is something I will be looking into very soon lol. Also I have a spare tank that I think I am going to set up outside and let the plant grow out there in the sun. That way it can get some light first.

Tim - March 29, 2006 09:32 PM (GMT)
yeah the tank in the sun is a very good idea. Does the java moss look dead even it fi is a little bit it should bounce back. To make sure it dosnt die i would put it in the water in the sun first and i would also tie it to the rock and then put it into the sun first so that way when it grows and comes back healthy in the sun it will be already attached to the rock........... this post is a little confusing hope you understand LOL

Tim

Yup I didn't get the oppurtunity to do it this arvo (I was very busy) however I should be able to do it tomorrow arvo. I am not going to use a tank anymore maybe a bucket or something instead because I dont want to have to scrap algae off a tank.

Leema - March 31, 2006 08:34 AM (GMT)
Make sure the rock is tank-safe, first. :)

bartier - April 2, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
I am taking it out of my tank so it is good.
