Title: My new 3 foot tank

bartier - February 6, 2006 06:25 AM (GMT)
i started ages ago looking into fish and have been keeping two oscars for a while now and they are at around 3-4" (albino picture 1 and tiger picture2) now and I recently bought a 36"x18"x15" tank for them (once they outgrow this tank i am going to return them to the shop) so far i have the tank the filter (aqua 1 power filter 2000l/h) and the gravel (picture 3) and i already have everything else needed in my current tank (air pumps, thermometor, etc.) however we are still minus a stand which is our goal for this week we are still trying to find i nice, strong design. I am planning on getting some nice big round rocks for decoration and once i get a light (once everything is setup first) then we are going to get lillypads and other plants from our backyard dam and clean them off and make it look really nice i can also afford the oscars plant destruction habits by replacing the plants very easily as they are all through our dam once all of this is done i am thinking of making a custom 3D background i will keep posted on how what is happening with the tank and hopefully it'll be looking good as soon as possible

Am I right in what I'm seeing? Is that a sliding glass hood? Very nice, love that Tiger Oscar too. I simply must get one of those eventually. But next will be a betta for me, and the sw tank fish for my wife, whenever she makes up her mind.

i am going to turn the stand into a cuboard by putting some plywood on the back doors on the front and sides on it to make it look more professional i am also wondering whether i could build in two lights into the inside of the stand that light up the tank from the bottom has anyone ever tried this

Tell your dad that I said he sure does know how to pick out some good wood. Nice work on the stand!

lol we are still going to put a shelf in the bottom like dividing the storage space into two sections and put swinging doors on the front and meat safe (i think that is what it is called the metal stuff they used to put on cuboards so meat could be kept and still get the breeze to keep it from going off i don't think it would work well though

only thing that has happened is i removed the plant cause it died (dad poisoned the plants in the dam before i put it in the tank luckily it didn't hurt the fish) so nothing new to see
