Got a new boy on Tuesday. It was a rescue, kinda. I watched the man bring in the box filled with shipments of bettas. I told myself to NOT buy Veiltails anymore, but I couldn't resist :rolleyes: . My uncle opened the box, and there were a few dead bettas and a few that looked dead. He was gonna throw them all away, but I saw this little boy still breathing so I took him. He's a Blue Mustard Gas Veiltail, kind of a cool find. Named him Joe ^_^ I gave him the "dark treatment" the first night so that he could regain his colors and recover from the stressful ride home.

The very next day, he blew me a beautiful bubblenest:

Yeah. I don't really like veiltails that much, but he's an exception. I like HMPK much better.

That would have been tragic if he was thrown away.

I admire people who take home the sick bettas and nurse them back to health.

I 'rescued' a betta from PetCo also. Kinda a double-edged sword, but they are going to keep selling them whether I buy one or not.

my female makes bubblenest's kinda odd for a female to do. but then again i think my male betta is gay

Nah. It's normal for females to blow bubblenests. It's only odd if she blows one way BIGGER than the male does.
