Title: Blue Velvet Damsel
Description: My newest addition

Well my wife and I talked about it, and we both agreed that we needed to do something with the 29g tank. It's not going to be in our budget (again) to replace it with a 125g tank  But some major upgrades to the 29g tank will be in the budget. So we came up with a plan... we're calling it the 12 weeks of chrismas plan. Here goes...

In the first week of christmas (last week) we upgraded the lightbulbs and bought the necessary equipment to make a plenum (which I will put in tomorrow). By the way, WOW what a difference light bulbs can make... I put in an ocean sun bulb in the back and a coral sun in the front, and the fish really flouress now. I mean they really pop. I should have done this a year ago.

In the second week of christmas we bought a blue velvet damsel to add to the tank (he is gorgeous, I'll try to get some pics)... He did get his fins nipped at first though, so his tail has a big chunk missing... but since then the other two have adjusted to his presence and don't bother him anymore.

In the third week of chrismas (next week) I'm going to start buying the materials to add another filtration system to the tank. As well as the materials to make new base rock, and I will be making the base rock and start the curing process which will take at least 6 weeks.

In the fourth and fifth weeks of christmas I will get 2 scooter blennies to add to the tank.

In the sixth week of christmas I will add a detrivore or algivore of some manner to the tank, probably a shrimp of some kind.

I havn't planned out weeks 7-12 except to say that on week 9 I'll start seeding the new base rock, and on week 11 I'll put it in the tank. At some point I'll add a firefish, and on week 12 we'll add a flame angel to the tank.

That's going to be a very overstocked tank, so that plenum and extra filter will definately be necesary... well, the extra filter will be a bit over-the-top if I do it the way I want to... so we'll have to see how it works out. I figure I should be ok by spacing the additions out over a 12 week period and adding more filtration as I go.
