Title: General Aquaria
Sergeant Major - October 8, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
www.generalaquaria.com is now online if you want to take a sneak peak... Althought it's by no means finished, in fact I havn't even really bothered putting the content on the main page, so bear with me... also, a word of advise, don't go through the disease profiles yet, as several of the profiles go to links that won't let you use the back button... so maybe wait a couple days on that... I've been busting my butt trying to get it all up there asap, and I'm exhausted now so I'm going to go sleep the rest of the night.
When I do fix all those links and get the main page content up, I will begin stripping the forum down bare-bones... After all, we don't very well need tv's, right?

I took a quick look around and although it is not finished yet I really like what you've done so far.
Keep us updated. :)

As of now, the diseases section has been fixed and there shouldn't be any more of those links on the site.
I'm now going to start the process of stripping down a couple elements of the forum, so if you need to see the lunar phase for your coral breeding, or want to watch T.V. while surfing, you'll have to do it from the General Aquaria home page. However, you'll have a much better experience there, as the T.V. doesn't turn off every time you switch forum topics.

I took a quick look around the new site! Very classy!

How come there are so many scrollbars.
Sergeant Major - October 12, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
There should only be one if you are viewing it in 1280x1024 resolution, or two if you are viewing it in a lower resolution. The reason for this is that the main content area is an iframe. That's what allows you to be able to navigate without stopping the TV.
If you have anymore scrollbars than that, take a screenshot and post it here so I can figure out what else is going on.

All sections of the site are now online. There shouldn't be any more broken links anywhere on the site.
There may still be a couple of non-working images in the sponsors and partner sites areas however, but I will have that fixed this weekend as I work to convert all those inbound links from aquatopia to General Aquaria.
By the way, Google just indexed the site, and we're already the #1 listing under the search terms general aquaria. That may not sound like much, but considering that it took almost 6 months to even be listed on page 1 for the search term Aquatopia, and even then we were only #5... that says something. And I haven't even begun to optimize the site for search engines.

I don't know why it is doing it

By the way the number one on google is really good news :)

I think I see why, Firefox ignores scrollbar styling, which includes turning them off....
Opera users can toggle this feature (and maybe newer versons of firefox can too, I don't know, I only know that as of 2 years ago they couldn't).
So now I'm just going to be mean and post a picture of how good it looks WITH scrollbar styling.... This will almost make you want to switch back to IE!
