General Comments: The Firefish is a very peaceful fish that makes a great inhabitant to any peaceful community tank. They should never be housed with larger more aggressive tankmates that may harass the Firefish. They have been known to jump out of uncovered tanks so therefore a hood or canopy is needed to prevent this fish from making a fatal jump. Only one should be kept per tank although a mated pair can coexist peacefully. Some people have attempted to keep a group of Firefish, however I would only try this in large aquariums.
