Title: Frozen Food Mix

atnixon - November 24, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
My new pair of false clowns will be introduced into a tank, a newly cycled tank, next weekend, and in the mean time, i want to buy some types of fish to chop up and get frozen in readyness...

I was looking over the fish monger counter and besides all the normal fish you get there, i was looking at 1) Squid 2) Clams and 3) Raw Prawns...Mixting in a little nori aswell to give it some variety..

Can anybody see any issues with these foods?

Niko

I answered your question over on Allfishforums but I'll post it here also.

There is no problems with feeding homemade food and in fact many marine aquarists make their own frozen mixtures to feed their tank. Shrimp, Squid, Scallops, Clams, Mussels, etc are all fine to use but make sure that it is fresh. Yeah adding Nori or spirulina flake is fine and you might even want to add a nutritional supplement such as Zoe or Selcon.
