Has anyone got any experience with pictus catfish, particularly on how fast they grow? However any other tips to keeping them would be appreciated as well.

Hey there bartier. I dont have much experience but i heard they grew to about 6 inches. Maybe bigger. The bigger the better. Anything else ill try to give you an answer as good as can be.

Well from my experience with catfish, i keeped a brack water one. They were said to grow up to only 4 inches but the one I kept grew up to 7 inches. I think the bigger the tank the bigger the fish will be.
I forgot what are you feeding hi,? And are you planning some tankmates. Cory, plecos, and other big and peaceful fish will be good with these.

My experience with catfish began and ended with a flathead that grew to about 12-14 inches in a 10g tank before I released it back into the lake from which I caught it. It grew from the minnow I accidentally hooked while fishing, to that size in fairly short order. Of course, none of this applies in your situation, except that both are from the same family.

You might try beef heart.... that will make them grow very quickly. Catfish around here like chicken liver, haha! You can always try that. That and marshmellows, cat food, etc.
Only kidding. Beefheart would probably be a good choice, though.
