Title: Spam zero tolerance policy
Octoberfest - August 7, 2006 06:56 PM (GMT)
Due to the massive amount of spam the board has been having, we will now be removing all posting rights from any member that posts any material advertising products for sale unrelated to aquariums or pets in general. We have had several members registering with the sole intent of advertising products, and we have let it get out of hand. Please work with us as we try to rid the forum of these people.
Spammers- take this into consideration before you post anything on this forum. it may seem we have let this go on, but we are cracking down on it- and you.

I don't like canned meats either .
Nah in seriousness, I don't know the case here but I have noticed on my forum along with some other IF forums a raised amount of bot registrations. I don't know if that is the issue here or if you have legitamate members spamming but thought it's worth mentioning. 99% of members I've been able to log as bots have been using .ru email addresses to register if that helps you guys any.
(p.s. until the end of August I will iclude a set of steak knives for all members buying over 6000 units of viagra )

thanks for the info... A IP ban would be all to easy providing the Admins were here or someone else could acess the Panel..
Just a note, we have already removed 2 accounts of their posting rights, and deleted one topic.
Before this purge of the unclean posters, we found and did the same to 4 other spam accounts. I can assure this rule only specifiacally targets spam users advertising products.

It seems as if things have been getting a little better, there has been a little more activity on the forum and the spam registrations have lessened......
2 more accounts gone.....
