Title: demspeys in 55 g

could 2 dempseys at 1" live in a 10 gallon untill i get 55 gallon in december? also any info on what dempseys need would help. thx u. i want to breed in 55.

Some people would disagree but it could be done. Remember that they will be under a lot of stress if you decide to this. I personally don't recomend it.

I think they should be fine in a 10 gallon for a month, but no more. They will increase the bioload once they get bigger. Even though they are a pair. They might kill each other due to stress.

im thinking jewels. any info? do they like plants? what min. size tank?wht is best food for them? how u get them to pair off?

a JD takes a lonnnnnnggg tim e to grow its not an oscar if they are small it will be fine for a temp situation

My jack dempseys never grew very fast. I don't think they grew an inch in 2 months to be honest. Then again, you never know. Great fish though. If I ever have a bigger fresh water tank, I'm definitely getting a few.

If you want jewels then a pair will be able to live happily in a 20 gallon. And to get them paired up, buy 6 or more, wait until they pair up. Pick any pair and sell the other off.
