My wife and I started our 29 gallon reef tank around February or so... if I can remember correctly, haha!
We've got two ocellaris clowns, a yellow tail damsel, yellow watchman goby, and a candy tiger shrimp. We've got some zoanthids as well as some green star polyps for corals.
Over the past few weeks we've seen some hard, white tubes on some of the live rock. We had no idea what they we're, but figured it was part of the live rock. Last night, we flipped on the aquarium lights really quickly to feed them, and noticed a SMORGASBOARD of creatures!
We noticed what appeared to be small shrimp running off with pieces of the food, almost flea-like, as well as all sorts of worms. We even noticed that we had 4-5 feather dusters! They we're coming out of the white tubes. Who would have known?
Very awesome though. I'll try and post some pictures when I get a chance.
PS Since I've never seen them or had a saltwater tank, are those small shrimp, pods?
Sounds like your tank is doing great. Most worms and pods that we get are very beneficial and pose no harm to our tanks.
Can't wait to see the pics. :)
Thanks PerfectBlue.
It's amazing how well my tank is doing. Saltwater has got to be one of the easiest tanks to take care of, even with the corals.
I had to remove one of my biggest pieces of live rock the other week. I noticed this hairy, creepy looking slug, and the first thing I thought was that it was a nudibranch. I've heard some horrific stories about them, so I immediately had my wife remove it.
Call me a coward, but I've heard the stories, LOL.
So needless to say, it's sat out on the porch ever since. I've still got like 75 lbs in the tank, so with just a small yellowtail damsel, yellow watchman goby, and pair of small clowns, it didn't hurt the filtration capacity.
How are things going with your tanks, PerfectBlue?
How about that pico reef? Made any changes?
Here is a guy you had a 7ft worm in his 500g tank.

Well I currently only have a 20g reef tank running, with everything from my 55g FOWLR tank. I took down the pico reef awhile ago but I enjoyed the tank very much. I have been thinking of setting up another Pico reef sometime in the future.
You have a 29g tank running correct?
I have read that before I wonder what there maximum size is?
