I have seven at the moment, 5 CT's and 2 VT's but hoping to keep getting more :).

For betta sites I only really visit UB -->

Favorite colour would probally be red. I have a couple of really nice red one's which I prolly consider my fave's out of the seven.

WOW! Bettas are really beautiful fish. Even the females. I have one of my own, but I'm not on my home computer at the moment, so no pics. She looks similar to the DT above. I swear they look like they are flying in some of the photos!

What does your Betta like to eat? Mine will have nothing to do with Betta Bites. She wants the good stuff. That is, frozen bloodworms, shrimp, mosquito larvae....

Perfectblue - July 2, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
I have had my oldest male Betta for about a year and my other male for only 3-4 months. They eat flake, pellet, and freeze dried as a treat.

hakkobetta - July 2, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
My girls and boys have a great diet that mainly consists of hikari gold betta pellets, shrimp pellets, frozen and freeze dried bloodworms, tetramin tropical flakes, and algae wafers. Yes, algae wafers. They're the biggest treat of the whole day! I actually just sold Saku up there, the other DRCT to the same girl who bought Jonathan, and he once ate an entire algae wafer, large sized. I've never seen a betta that fat before in my entire life! My eyes were popping out of my head. I fasted him for two days after that. :D

My bettas love to eat, my girls are impossible to satisfy, I have several videos of my different tanks if you'd like to see, I have four so far, so here goes:

My 20Long sorority, six females (CT female Kitty, Comb females Jenny, Lizzy DT/CT Molly, VT female Martha, hybrid-ish female Rogue)

My other sorority, not as long, but gets all the girls in the shots:

Wow!! Those are great videos!!! Thanks for posting them. You have some beautiful fish there. I especially appreciated the Crowntail. The Mr. Darcy commentary was a crack up  Nice job on all. Starvin' Marvin looks great too!

While watching the community tank vid, I could not help but wonder (yet again) what would happen if I put my female betta in my own community tank. She is currently in a 10 gallon with an Aquatic Dwarf Frog. There are Swordtails, Danios, Plattys and Harlequin Rasbora's in the tank. What do you think?

hakkobetta - July 24, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
Go ahead and give it a try! The only fish she might have problems with are the swordtails, and odds are in a big enough tank there won't be any problems with those at all. However, if it doesn't work out, you can just move her back where she came from.

Oh yeah, here's a new video of my fifty-five gallon sorority that I just set up last weekend:

55 gallon sorrority that is crazy

hakkobetta - July 24, 2006 11:44 PM (GMT)
Haha! It's a great tank though!

I <3 Craigslist, I got that thing for 100 bucks, the whole setup, the whole shibbang!

bartier - July 25, 2006 05:37 AM (GMT)
It is great and I just watched the video which is very good too. It seems like a very lively set up :)

FishyFry - July 25, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Cool tank! Everyone is looking very active and happy. Nice vid. Thanks for sharing it with us. By the way, I saw your most recent vid of Starvin' Marvin. He's lookin' great! He like's mirrors too, I see and showed off his beard. I like the monologue that goes with the videos too. Nice to hear the sound effects of the tanks as well.
