In my fish tank shrimps kill and eat fish! We had to remove them.

Is it possible the fish could have died naturally and the shrimp are just feeding on the already dead carcasses?

Yeah that is probably more likely, what kind of shrimp and fish are we talking?

There are some type of shrimp that will stalk and kill fish to devoure, I have seen pics of one with a tiger barb in its claws and munching away.
These are the long arm shrimp that is equipted with pincers.

Ghost shrimp as well as other varieties of shrimp will kill fry and very small fish. (such as some tetra- particularly at night when they aren't as active)
But most likely, the fish died and the shrimp were "cleaning up"

My mum observed them working together to overpower a tetra, she removed them, put them in a water-filled jug to die. (stupid isn't it?) One had had eggs on its belly for months - and it and its patrners died in that jug. Oh well.
