Hey all, just thought I'd pop some before and after pictures on here of my five gallon planted minibow!

Former occupants: Three cory cats, four zebra danios
New Occupants: Two fancy guppies, one DRCT male betta, and three ghost shrimp

Thanks guys :D My bettas are doing FANTASTIC! GAWD, I got SIX MORE IN THE MAIL DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY!! *DANCES AROUND LIKE A MANIAC* I got five females and one male. Two are DT/CT crosses (male and female siblings) and four are full siblings to my favorite girlie SHRIMP! I have got four cambodians and one red. I named them Molly (DT/CT), Sunny (red CT/VT, looks like a VT), Big Mama (Huge betta girlie, cambo CT/VT), Lizzie (cambo CT/VT), and Jenny (cambo CT/VT).

I also got a GORGEOUS DT/CT male...I named him Mr. Darcy, he's my first nano tank experiment, I'm starting a new one tonight! It's my new fish obsession.

Oh yeah, and I finally GOT SOME NEON TETRAS! *dies* Life is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, and I got an article on petfish.net as well, that was really exciting!

Alrighty! I will apologize for one thing first. Sunny would not come out...*grrr* Soooo there are no pictures of Sunny, except for one, but you can barely see her >:( Silly girl!!

Starting off the pictures is BIG MAMA! This girl is a HOSS


Second of all, we have Lizzie Bennet, but I just call her Lizzie! (I love Pride and Prejudice!!!)


Next is JENNY! Dunno where I came up with the name, I just looked at her and said "MMM....you look like a Jenny!" She's hiding underneath the sword and the tiny bit of java moss I moved into the tank from the twenty.


OMG! Here's MOLLY! She's SOOO CUTE!! (I think this is the DT/CT because she's so tiny)


And here's the twenty sorority with live plants, if you look almost in the direct center underneath that fake silk plant thing, you'll see Sunny hiding at the bottom of the tank.


And my new love of my life...MR. DARCY! (Since I can't have the real thing, I'll take one in fish form any day!) He's my nano-tank experiment. Tell me what you think. It's a one gallon tank (aquaview1 w/ lighted hood), mini-sponge filter w/ pinched air line to stop the current from being too strong) Not quite sure what to add yet though...definitely NOT ghost shrimp. I already saw one fellow get murdered by Lucien (wanted betta!~~shrimp killer!), and that was a sad day. Poor 35 cent shrimpy...R.I.P. Neways, here's Darcy!!


I wanna switch it to black gravel...Right now I'm using water from my twenty and gravel from my five, along with the live plants to help the filter along (It's already been aged for a week in a cycled tank).

Everything looks great! They are all lovely. What kind of betta is Mr. Darcy? He is beautiful. My betta is that color, but he is a veil-tail.

Thanks guys! Catlover, Mr. Darcy is a DT/CT cross, or a Double-tail/Crown tail cross. He'd actually be considered a Single-tail male with crowning. He has what some people call a "delta" tail, which isn't quite super delta, which isn't quite half-moon. :D
