when we go to aquarium stores, we all like to look around and gawk at the different types of fish they have. I thought it would be cool if we could share these! whenever you go to a LFS and see a fish that blows you away, come online and post the name and if possible a pic. I'll start off:
at a petco i saw a sisscortail goby
I saw a young black ribbon eel at my local fish shop. Awesome fish! Absolutely georgeous- was coiled around and through a piece of live rock in its own tank. Body was probably only about an inch around, it was hard to tell the length though, as he was entwined in a piece of rock. Here is some info:
http://animal-world.com/encyclo/marine/eels/ribbon.phpSounds like a very difficult-to-keep fish. I'm definitely not suggesting that anyone get one- I'm just commenting on the cool fish I saw at the lfs.
He was about 200 US dollars. The picture doesn't even begin to do the little guy justice- but its the best pic I could find!
That is one weird looking fish.
A fish that caught my eye the other day was the Koi Swordtail, it's nothing fancy, the same as a regular sword tail, just orange and white instead of all orange. I thought they were so cute that I almost wanted to buy a pair!!
I'm also in love with the silver colored lionhead or "Ranchu" goldfish. I still haven't seen one of the Chinese Dwarf goldies they're selling now (max out at two inches!! I want one soooo bad, well two, actually!)
